Norma was born October 26, 1920 in Ravenna, Ohio to parents Samuel and Mina Foust.
Norma grew up on Cleveland Road in Ravenna where she worked with her parents who operated a vegetable farm where they grew and washed assorted vegetables and then sold them at the Farmers Market in East Cleveland at the corner of Coit and Woodsworth roads. She was a life member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and served as President of the Women of the Church. She also was active with the Ravenna Band Patrons. Norma was a very hardworking woman and homemaker who took great care of her family. She liked sewing and needlework, scrapbooking and cards. Norma enjoyed wintering in Winter Park, Florida and enjoyed playing golf in her later years.
Surviving Norma is her son the Reverend Joe (Donna) Allen of Hartville and her daughter Linda (Scott) Fosnight of Ravenna. Surviving also are her grandchildren: Mary Jo (Ron) Smith, Dr. Matthew (Melissa) Allen, Michele Allen, Scotty Fosnight, Dan Fosnight and her great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Andrew, Breila and Lucas. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe Allen, Sr., her sister Helen Deering and brother Earl Foust.
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 170 N. Freedom St., Ravenna from 10:00 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. funeral service officiated by Reverend Daniel Caruso. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
