Norman Wilson O'Dell Sr.

He was born July 5, 1933, in Fayette County, West Virginia, a son of the late William and Myrtle Mae (Foster) O’Dell. Norman was a member of the General Assembly Church of God in Newton Falls. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of UAW Local 420. Norman retired from the Ford Motor Company Stamping Plant in Walton Hills after 31 ½ years of service.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Janice Marie (Turner) O’Dell; his children: Karen (Mark) Knotts of Ravenna, Norman (Lisa) O’Dell Jr. of Kent, Douglas (Patricia) O’Dell of Ravenna, John O’Dell of Freedom, and Donna (Bryan) Montgomery of Kent; also survived by his brothers Walmer (Barbara) O’Dell of CA and Frank (Joan) O’Dell of NV; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Norman was preceded in death by his siblings June, Tinky, Mitzi, Glenn, John, and Jimmy.

Friends will be received on Friday, July 9, 2010, from 12:00 PM until the 1:00 PM funeral service officiated by Pastor Mitch Meadors at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township.
