Odell “Bud” Fleming, age 84 of Atwater, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021, at his home.

He was born February 8,1937in Peach Creek, West Virginia, to parents Jesse James and Ora (Mullins) Fleming. Bud proudly served his country as a veteran of the US Army. He retired from the GM Lordstown plant after 34 years of employment on January 1, 1990, where he also was a member of UAW Local 1714. On April 17, 1958, he married his beloved Barbara Ann (Vannatter) and the couple started their family. Bud cherished his time spent with family and would often drive over to his see his kids and grandkids in his GMC truck, as long as the weather was nice.

Surviving family members include his wife Barbara, his children: Douglas (Laura) Fleming, Steven (Susan) Fleming, and Debra Edwards, his grandchildren: Beth (fiancé Chris Drummond) Fleming, Eric (Samantha) Fleming, Rebekah (Adam) Gibbs, Stephen (Mallory) Sapp, Gabby Fleming, Kyle (Alyssa) Edwards, Collin Edwards, Jesse Edwards, and Reese Edwards, as well as his great-grandchildren: Mason, Emersyn, Barett, Everly, and Mitchell. Bud is also survived by his siblings: Peggy (Bob) Seidl, James Fleming, Donald (Pat) Fleming, Susie Fleming, Connie (Larry) Collier, and Vicky Fleming, along with generations of loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his siblings: Mabel Ullom Jude, Hazel Stewart, and Dennis Fleming.

Friends and family will be received Friday, April 2, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the New Testament Baptist Church, with funeral services officiated by Pastor Bob Burgess at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Interment will follow with military honors provided by Deerfield American Legion Post 713 and the US Army Honor Guard at Atwater Cemetery.

Biography

Odell “Bud” Fleming, age 84 of Atwater, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021, at his home.
