

He was born January 2, 1924, in Belleville, West Virginia, a son of the late Eldon and Grace (Pierce) Hale. Affectionately known as “Tater”, Orlin retired from Lamson & Sessions/RB&W after more than forty years of service. Mr. Hale was a member of the Grace Church of Rootstown. He could build anything, and was the consummate “jack-of-all-trades.” Every day Orlin would find time to play a game of dominos.
Survivors include his daughters: Sandy (Bruce) Whitely of Rootstown and Pam (Ron) Rost of Rootstown; grandchildren: Jamie Whitely, Tori (Eric) Noel, Tyler Rost, Grant Rost; great-grandchildren: Seth and Zoe Noel, and Jadelyn Whitely; brother: Leo (Mary Lou) Flinn; sisters: Neva Smith, Doris (Dick) Swartz, Ruth Carmichael; brother-in-law: Clarence Flinn; sisters-in-law: Leona Lemley, Lyla Rogers, and Joan Sabo; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Fifteen years ago, on the same date, October 30, 1995, Orlin was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lerah (Flinn) Hale. He was also preceded by his sister Reva White, and his brothers Argyl Hale and Harold Hale.
Friends will be received Tuesday, November 2, 2010, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Grace Church of Rootstown, 4808 Tallmadge Rd., Rootstown, OH 44272, with the funeral service following at 6:00 PM at the church. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Maple Grove Cemetery.
