

He was born on November 20, 1933, in Green Township, near Woodsfield, Ohio, to parents Oscar K. and Mildred (Schneider) Riggenbach. Oscar graduated from Ravenna Township High School in 1951, and then proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. John A. Bole during the Korean War.
He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Ravenna. He retired from Gougler Industries after 44 years of employment.
Oscar enjoyed the quiet and peacefulness of being outdoors. He was quite the gardener and could make anything grow. He liked working on the family farm near Woodsfield and spending time with his family.
Oscar was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years Charlotte Riggenbach, his parents, his brother Robert Riggenbach, and his sister Constance Reilly.
He is survived by his daughters: Sandra (Joe) Boxler of Woodsfield, OH and Patty (Dennis) Eltringham of Colorado Springs, CO, his grandchildren: Joshua (Ginny) Leffel, Olivia (Zachary) Clifton, Anthony (Stephanie) Boxler, and Jennifer Eltringham, as well as his great-grandchildren: Kylie, Kinsley, and Carson Clifton, and Evan and Elsie Boxler, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
His wishes for cremation are being honored. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Private inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery.
