Perry was born at Fort Dix Army base in NJ to Eugene Martin Priest and Ramona Mae Priest (Pettrey) as the youngest of 3 children. Perry worked as a Maintenance man for most of his adult life, working at Ravenna Aluminum, Harry London and Gardner Pie. He loved teaching anyone that had an interest in learning how to troubleshoot machinery.
Perry had many loves in his life besides his family and friends, which included Football, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes, OH-IO! Football was his favorite winter sport, so much so, that vacations and other activities were scheduled around the Ohio State Buckeye schedule. Friends and Family are asked to wear your favorite Football jersey to the funeral in honor of Perry.
Perry was very much an outdoor sportsman, taking every chance he could to fish with his buddy, Jeff Leightner and cousin Johnny Priest, and many special friends. Along with his other hobbies, he was an avid hunter and loved showing the younger generation just how it was done. One of his favorite things was to slice his deer meat so thin and make jerky from his dehydrator and make an awesome corned beef from his smoker.
Perry had a soft domestic side that showed in his love for canning and cooking. He was not afraid to try any recipe and especially liked preparing food that his grandmother, Mother and Aunt Mildred would suggest. He enjoyed canning alongside his mom and wife. He was very proud to show off his canned green beans and tomato juice. His green beans were requested at every family function.
Perry was a wonderful husband, great friend, uncle, brother and Grandfather. He was survived by his wife Barbara Priest (Willis), Children Tawnya (Paul) Nutter, Rebecca Workman and Dylan Singleton, Brian Workman, Bill (Tracy) Workman. Grandchildren, Tatum, Kegan Nutter, Dakota, Dominick, Seasons, and Jay Singleton , Skylar Bradley, Cheyenne, Jeremiah, Isaiah Workman, Brittany, Chelsie Workman and Mackenzie Shane as well as many loving cousins.
He also leaves behind his sister Renotta Bradley and friend Karyn Barclay. Nephews and nieces, Shane, Justin, Alex Bradley and Melissa (Richard) Aue, and Ashley (Dominique) Richardson.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents, son Alan Priest, sister Christine Priest, and niece Jessica Cobbs.
