

She was born June 16, 1928, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Dorothy Grigsby Baer and Homer A. Baer. Phyllis married the love of her life, Wayne Arthur Bebb, on April 28, 1950. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who enjoyed life and her family.
Phyllis was a member of Palmyra United Methodist Church. She started her work with Riesman’s in Ravenna, and later worked at Southeast Middle School from 1972 until her retirement in 1989. Phyllis traveled to Sanibel Island in Florida and loved shelling on the beaches there.
She worked alongside her husband to build the house they lived in their entire married life raising their family. Phyllis enjoyed her garden and flowers and often crocheted blankets and booties for her grandchildren and friends. She loved to dance and often went square dancing on Saturday night with her husband. Phyllis also enjoyed sitting outside watching the planes, hummingbirds, and bald eagles.
Remaining to cherish and honor her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 61 years Wayne A. Bebb; son William D. Bebb and wife Clemmy, daughters Linda E. Almashy and husband Dan, Barbara K. Ludban, and Carol J. Bebb; grandchildren: Kristina J. Gatewood, Amanda A. Ludban Himes, Emilee C. Almashy, and William M. Bebb; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Taylor, Daniel, Kennedy, Grace, Chase, and Alex; as well as her sister Bonnie Burton.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Danny Lee Almashy Jr.
Friends will be received Monday, September 26, 2011, from 5-7 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Reverend Don Booth on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at West Cemetery in Palmyra.
