He was born July 4, 1936, in Akron, Ohio, to parents Raymond O. and Elizabeth (Fisher) Lee. Ray graduated from Southeast High School and retired from the Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills. He proudly served in the US Army.
In his earlier years, Ray enjoyed hunting. He continued a lifelong passion with fishing, especially at his cabin in Plainfield, Ohio, on Wills Creek, and when wintering in Port Orange, Florida.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years Charlene (Partin) Lee; his children: Jeff (Terri) Lee and Patricia (Jay) Snyder; step-children: Tami Crum, Teri (Kevin) Moore, Tina (Tony) Brown, Gary (Ildiko) Pittman, Traci (Ron) Sterner, and Todd (Becky) Tackett. He is also survived by his siblings: Gerald (Shirley) Lee, Barbara (David) Delin, Paul (Jean) Lee, his step brother: Charles “Rick” (Aleta) Lee, along with all of his loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Julie Smith.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 12:30 – 1:00 PM with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Todd Tackett at 1:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, with a reception and time of fellowship following. Private inurnment will take place at Edinburg Cemetery.
