Rick was born in Akron, Ohio August 17, 1959. He graduated from Field High School, and was a long-time member of the Randolph and Atwater community.
He was an avid bird watcher, t.v. enthusiast, and active member of the neighborhood watch. When Rick was younger, he found great joy in things like playing softball, hunting, fishing, camping, and all things outdoors. He was a man of many trades, beginning with a cook at the Congress Lake Country Club before becoming a certified EMT, and a well known carpenter, but is better known for always being there for all those he cared for. Whether it was to simply lend an understanding ear, or give irrefutable advice, one could always count on Rick for support, coupled with an extremely unique sense of humor. He truly was one of the most accepting, loving individuals, and the friendships he formed lasted a lifetime.
He will be greatly missed. Especially by his three children, Ben, Alli, and Casey Hengle, who will try always to remember him in a positive light. Along with his younger brother, Russ Hengle, son and granddaughter in-law, Darrin and Kaylei Lester.
Even though he has left a giant hole by leaving too soon, may all that knew him find comfort in the fact that he is no longer suffering, and finally at peace.
Rick is to be cremated per his wishes, and services will be later announced by the family and held in the spring. Condolences and fond memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com
