Richard A. Holmes

Richard was born in Akron, Ohio to parents Howard B. and Genevieve (Whystle) Holmes on November 20, 1937. He was a machinist by trade and had worked for Park Ohio Industries and Morco Corp. in Bedford Heights making crankshafts and truck rims. Richard retired from Cardinal Packaging. Richard attended Star of Bethlehem Church in Aurora. He was a very hard working man supporting his family, enjoyed Bluegrass music and loved all animals, especially dogs and birds.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Aldonna (Martin) and his children Regina (Gregory) Styles, Dawn (Ron) Stewart and Glynis (Melvin) Swank. He also leaves his grandchildren Douglas & Lynette Swank and Michael & Samantha Watters. Surviving also are his brothers Howard (Dianne) Holmes, Robert (Mary Ann) Holmes, Daniel (Judy) Holmes and brothers-in-laws: Dale Martin, Gerald (Hilda) Martin, Arlen (Judy) Martin along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Deanna Renee Waters and his grandson Christopher Wilkinson.

Private family funeral services are being held and interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.
