Richard H. Mullett

Rich was born to Raymond and Christine Mullett on August 25th, 1947, was a graduate of Windham High School and Kent State University and a lifelong Portage County resident. Rich proudly served his country in the 199th Infantry Brigade during the Vietnam War and was awarded 2 Purple Hearts, 2 Bronze Service Stars and an Army Commendation Medal among other awards and honors during his time in The United States Army.

Rich retired from the Windham Post Office in 2019 where he worked as a letter carrier for 47 years. He spent years taking his daughters, their friends and many neighborhood children sledding, pond fishing, hiking at the ledges or to one of many nearby haunted houses and amusement parks. Rich enjoyed comedy shows, roller coasters, Reese’s peanut butter cups, a strong 7&7, and shooting his potato gun.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law Arnella and Michael Wanchick, as well as sister-in-law Phyllis Mullett and brother-in-law Richard Baker.

Surviving is wife Anne Mullett, daughters Courtney (Chris) Caldwell, Natasha (Mike) Floyd, and Monique (Kirk) Mullett, grandchildren August, Zane, Dash, Mason, Max, Celeste, Myles and Lucas. He is also survived by his siblings Carol Baker, Ron Mullett, Wanda (Fred) Fortney and Reed Mullett as well as several nieces and nephews, many extended family members and friends.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to all of the staff at UH Ravenna who cared for him and also to the volunteer veteran who visited and traded war stories with him in his room at the hospital on Friday August 2nd.

All are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday August 17th from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna.
