Richard L. Squires Sr.

He was born April 7, 1930, in Akron, Ohio, to parents Alvin and Geraldine (nee Ladd) Squires. Richard was a proud veteran of the US Army serving in WWII and the US Navy serving in the Korean War. Richard was a truck driver and retired from Yellow Freight.

He is survived by his daughters: Sandra (Tom) Gotter of Cuyahoga Falls and Sue Stoneking of Paris Township; sons: Rick (Karen) Squires of Barberton, Marlin (Betty) Squires of Ravenna, and Michael Squires of Ravenna; sister Donna Sadusky of Florida; as well as 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mildred Joy Squires on May 7, 2009, and his son Donny.

Friends will be received Sunday, July 14, 2013, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor David Ballert on Monday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Paris Township with military honors.
