

She was born July 18, 1938, in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Walter Raymond and Mildred Vivian Sayre. Rion was an administrative assistant for 52 years with Goodyear Aircraft/Loral/Lockheed Martin, finally retiring in February 2010. Since 1968, she has been an active member in the Tire Town Chapter, of International Association of Administrative Professionals. This past February, Rion received the Member of the Year Award.
Rion graduated, with honors, from Randolph High School in 1956. She had remained active in the Randolph community, helping with the Portage County Randolph Fair, where she coordinated Senior Day for many years. She was also a member of the Randolph Historical Society and served as the secretary for the Randolph Alumni Association.
Rion truly loved nature. She enjoyed her nature walks, animals, and life on the farm. Her kind and loving heart will be remembered by many.
She is survived by her brother: Ernest D. Sayre of Randolph; nieces: Connie (Riley) Foster of Randolph and Cindy (Dave) Faller of North Canton; great-nephew: John (Stephanie) Foster of Randolph, great-niece: Mandy (Adam) Huth of Atwater and great-great-nieces and nephews: Zachary Barbose, Calista Barbose, Aubrey Foster, Deagan Foster and Lilly Foster.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law Virginia “Sis” Sayre.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2-6 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be celebrated by Reverend James Lang on Monday, March 29, 2010, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
