

She was born March 20, 1923, in Akron, Ohio, to parents George F. and Eva H. (Artzer) Frank. Her family then moved to Springfield and later to Cincinnati. She returned to Akron and married John Kenneth Kline on July 4, 1942. In 1951, the couple moved their family to Rootstown to care for Ken’s aging Grandparents and took over the family farm. Rose was a pioneer in the organic food business and operated Kline’s Natural Foods from her home, but her main duties were as a devoted wife and loving mother.
She was an active member of St. Peter of the Fields Parish, singing in the choir for over 50 years. Rose was also a past president of the Altar Rosary Society, served as the church Sacristan, was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, the Cursillo, and the Thursday morning prayer group. She enjoyed writing, having poetry published in a religious magazine and a weekly article in a community newspaper. Other interests included the Rootstown Garden Club.
Rose is survived by her children: Joseph G. (Opal) Kline of Bonita Springs, Florida, Therese M. (Rodney) Meyers Schey of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Craig) Meade-Badger of Green, Ohio, Mary F. (Edward) Roynesdal of Louisa, Virginia, James A. Kline of Rootstown, and Loretta “Lori” Dunkin of Woodbury, Minnesota. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth “Betty” Thorsen-Robertson of Dunedin, Florida and brother-in-law Marcus C. Kline of Uniontown. Rose’s memory will be cherished by her grandchildren: Timothy J. (Kim) Kline, Brenda E. (Yanci) Smith, Robert J. (Alicia) Kline, Lawrence M. “Larry” (Lynn) Kline, John R. (Wendy) Meyers, James C. Meyers, Kristin A. Roynesdal, Kari Ann Roynesdal, Amie C. (David) Kline-Craddock, Michelle M. (Heath) Sershen, and Shannon R. Dunkin; her 13 great-grandchildren; and her numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Kenneth Kline on March 9, 2010. She was also preceded by her parents, her sons William M. Kline and John Kenneth Kline II, her siblings: Pauline M. Kline, George P. Frank, Sr. Mary C. Frank OSF, Robert Frank, and John Frank.
Friends will be received Wednesday, October 2, 2013, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Friends may also call an hour prior to the 11:00AM Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Reverend David Misbrener on Thursday at St. Peter of the Fields Church, 3487 Old Forge Rd., Rootstown. Interment will follow at St. Peter of the Fields Cemetery.
