Shirley met the love of her life, Harold, at a wedding in Michigan and they were married nine months later. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on March 8. Some of her favorite things were flowers, gardening, cooking and baking (EVERYONE loved her homemade cinnamon rolls). Taking care of her family was her number one priority. If there was a berry bush in the middle of a raging river, she would find a way to pick them. Shirley was a faithful member of Friendship Bible Church in Randolph, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Clayton and Lydia Harsh, her brothers: Stanley, Melvin, Oran, and her sisters: Mary Jane Hanline and Cleota Lawson.
She is survived by her loving husband, Harold, her sister, Helen, and her four children: Dennis Doolittle (Janet), Neil Doolittle, Denise Jacobs (Don), and Greg Doolittle, her grandchildren: Dennis (Laurie), Todd, Jilian (Jason), Mark (Monica), Jodi (Joey), Nathaniel, Courtney (Josh), Caleb, and her great grandchildren: Alexis, Alison, Jacob, Brenden, Ashton, Avery, Colton, Claire, Caden, Autumn, Madelyn, Henry, Harrison, Emmy, Ellie, Judah, and Josephina.
Friends will be received on Friday, February 7th, 2025, from 11-1pm at Friendship Bible Church, 1703 Ohio 44 Randolph, OH 44265. A celebration of life and funeral service, officiated by Elder Mark Salisbury, will begin at 1pm. Interment will immediately follow at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
