Shirley Leona Smithberger

Shirley was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on June 11, 1937 to parents Arzy and Virginia Stackpole. She graduated from Randolph High School and began working in the payroll department of Davey Tree Expert Co. for 10 years. After raising two sons, Shirley enjoyed her position as secretary of the Rootstown United Methodist Church for 20 years. She loved her family and enjoyed travelling and vacationing with them.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ron, and her two sons: David (Tina) of Randolph, Ohio and Don of Louisville, Ohio. Surviving also are her two grandchildren: Michael (Sarah) Shannon of Randolph & Ashley Smithberger of Randolph and two great-grandchildren: Kenley and Taylin. Shirley also leaves two brothers: Clifford (Sarah) Stackpole and Robert Stackpole.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends will be received on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Rootstown United Methodist Church, 4065 St. Rt. 44, Rootstown, Ohio where funeral services, officiated by Pastor Phillip Raynes, will be held at 10:00am on Monday, December 22nd. Interment will follow at Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown.
