Shizuko "Mickey" Gatts

Mickey emigrated to the United States in 1957 and settled with her family in Jewett before moving to Cadiz in the summer of 1969. Mickey was quite the cook, working at the Starlite Inn, the old airport restaurant, and then retiring from the Carriage Inn of Cadiz.

Mickey is survived by her children Roy “Buck” (Ty) Gatts of Cadiz, JR (Natalie) Gatts of Portage Lakes, Doug (Shelly) Gatts of Canal Winchester, and Margaret Gatts of Hilliard. Mickey was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Mickey loved and enjoyed spending time with all of her family and friends through the years. She also loved visiting the ocean. Mickey was a member of Scott United Methodist Church. She had a great sense of humor and will be remembered by many with smiles and laughter.

Her wishes for cremation are being honored. Friends and family will be received Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM with a celebration of life service taking place at 1:00 PM at the Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 E Market St., Cadiz, OH 43907.
