To the Wilson Family,
I was just informed 2/10/15 of Steve's passing.  My entire family wishes to express our condolences.  My wife and I will deeply missed Steve.  He was not just my mother's attorney, but a friend that always took time to take an interest in people and their lives.  I enjoyed discussing historical things about Ravenna and the surrounding area and about our various hobbies.  Steve treated people with respect and helped a lot of people in the community.  He was an exceptional person.

To the Wilson Family I was so shocked to just hear of Mr. Wilsons passing . I have known him sense I was a kid I grew up on infirmary rd. He was a Great Person the last time I seen and spoke to him he was giving a Speech to my son's Cub scout troop . Sorry to not have know before now .. Thoughts and Prayer to you all

Our sincerest condolences to the Wilson family. Steve was always a good friend to our family and always willing to help with advice and his words of wisdom. We ran into him often when we came back to Ohio. We were just there at the end of October and we so regret not seeing him. His smile and openness will be missed by many. So very sorry for your loss.

I have known Steve since childhood as neighbors, schoolmates, and Cub Scouts in Lorayne's den. We lost touch after school untill I began working near his office years ago. It was so nice to catch up on our lives a minute or two at a time on his courthouse runs. Even if he couldn't stop I would always get that smile and a wave. It was always a bright spot in my day. I had several people ask me who that guy was and they would typically tell me how he brightened their day by going out of his way to smile and say "Hi" to someone he didn't know. Recently we had a little more time as he was helping me with my father's affairs. I wish there would have been time to meet you all. I'm truly grateful that I could brighten his world if only once by arranging for him to borrow some old bank issued money for his "History of Banking" project. He seemed so proud of all his projects and collections and especially his family. I can only hope and pray that knowing how many lives he touched in so many ways can somehow ease your pain and grief. 

And to "Beejay" I'm sorry my back problems wouldn't allow me to stay long enough after the service to see you. It's been a long time.

To the family of Steve Wilson: I had the honor of working with Steve when I was employed as a deputy clerk in the Common Pleas Clerk's office before retiring. Any time Steve stopped in the office he made the day brighter just by his presence alone. He was always kind and considerate to anyone he met. I will miss him as I know he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. My prayers are with all his family during this sad time.

Rosemary, I know we are coworkers and do not know much about each other, but I want to extend my deepest sympathy.  I have been widowed twice, so I do know some of your struggles now and upcoming.  Please feel free to contact me any time.  I know of a great grief share class offered at The Chapel if you would be interested.  Just remember because of God's gift to us of eternal life, you will see Steve again.  I know that does not offer must comfort in your daily lives now, but hopefully that knowledge can help ease the pain in the future. It is impossible to comprehend such a tragic and untimely loss as this. I have your family in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve in the days ahead. I wish you the best and all the comfort you can get in the good memories from all who knew and were honored to have Steve in our lives. Our lives crossed and made us lifelong friends as scouts in troop 555; as were Greg and Bruce. Steve always made me feel I was important to him. You could seldom go to Ravenna without seeing him. He would always speak and recall memories while catching up on those we knew. I've lost a friend. I miss him and grieve along with you.

Steve will be missed; he was one of the things about Ravenna that would never change. A constant nice, kind and fair man, proud of his family, his work and his town. Wish I had stopped to see you, as you always invited.

Steve Wilson was a wonderful and lasting influence on the boys of cub scout pack 3551 Ravenna.  Through his kindness, generosity, and wisdom; he has touched the lives of countless boys in scouting who knew him.  As a father of two of those boys, and cub master, the memory of Stephen "Bald Eagle" Wilson will endure in all of our hearts and minds forever. He showed us all what the honor of scouting means.

In my 23 years at Portage County Tax Map I would see Steve on a weekly basis as he filed documents for his clients. In that time we got to know each other as we spoke of current events and our families. I was always struck by the pride and love that was evident as he would speak of his children and grandchildren. Memories are kept alive in the stories we tell and share with others. I will be keeping you all in my prayers as you navigate this difficult time.

Our sympathy goes out to the Wilson family.  Steve was a great guy who loved his family.
