

Vincent James Delano Jr., age 85, of Rootstown, Ohio, passed away on July 15, 2026. Born April 2, 1941, in Ravenna, Ohio, Vincent lived a life marked by steady devotion, quiet faith, and a selfless care for those around him.
Vince graduated from Ravenna High School in 1959. He later served in the United States Army, a reflection of the faithful sense of duty that guided him throughout his life.
Vince worked for 37 years as a Small Press Operator at the Chrysler Twinsburg Stamping Plant. Through decades of dedicated work, he built a legacy of reliability and commitment—showing, in daily ways, the strength of a life spent putting responsibility and others first.
On February 8, 1986, Vincent married Linda K. (Gourley). In addition to Linda, he is survived by his son, Matthew Delano, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine (Mallozzi) Delano and Vincent James Delano Sr.; and by his siblings, Mickie Delano, Vivian Swartout, Angela Nagella, and Margaret Stuart.
A man of enduring interests and simple joys, Vince enjoyed bowling in his younger years as part of the Moose League. He also loved traveling—taking several cruises and especially enjoying trips to Alaska and Cape Cod. A loyal Cleveland sports fan and supporter of The Ohio State Buckeyes, he found camaraderie and comfort in the teams he followed. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre, sharing time and conversation in ways that reflected his steady, generous spirit.
Vincent was a member of New Testament Baptist Church, where his faith was lived with sincerity and constancy.
Visitation will be held at New Testament Baptist Church, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday, at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Bob Burgess. Interment will follow at Edinburg Cemetery with military honors.
