

She was born August 31, 1912, in Brimfield, Ohio, to parents Nicholas and Myrtle (Cady) Englehart. Virgie retired from Akron City Hospital as a surgical tech. After her retirement in the 1980’s, she traveled the country and cruised the oceans.
She was an active member and served as a past president for the Ravenna Senior and Rootstown 60+ Clubs. Virgie was also active in 4-H and a leader for Girl Scouts of America.
Virgie spent the past 20 years on her daughter June’s farm in Paris Township. She enjoyed the horses, donkey, dogs, cats, koi goldfish, and various other critters, as well as the beautiful plants and flowers. The “Misty Morn” farm will be her final resting place.
Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harley Englehart, her sisters: Florence Hendrix, Masei Braham, and Ruby Georges, her daughters: Judith Ann Fodse and Patricia Moore, and her grandson Darrell Lee Fisher.
Virgie is survived by her sister Mae Greer, daughter Priscilla “June” Kothera, sons-in-law Dominic Fodse and George Moore, grandchildren: Duane Hutton, Alisa Phile, Heidi Heath, Martin Fodse, as well as her great-grandchildren: Faith Groover, Gwen Fisher, Brandy Hutton, Heather Fisher, Leonard Fisher, Chad Fodse, and Nicholas Fodse, and her six great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received for a celebration of Virgie’s life on Sunday, May 15, 2016, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in the Activity Room of the Woodlands at Robinson, 6831 N. Chestnut St., Ravenna. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com.
