

He was born January 16, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, to parents Ed “EJ” Miller and Isabelle (Brooks) Miller. Dale grew up in Akron, attended North Hill, and then graduated from Rootstown High School. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the US Army and the National Guard.
Dale was a hard worker. He started working with his father at EJ Miller Construction, and after the Army, he went to work for Helbig Company. Dale purchased the N.C. Jones Company and established the D&M Oil Field Services, Inc. and D&M Contracting. In addition to all of his construction and excavating work, Dale also worked on the family farm.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Dale loved to share stories with his grandkids while at the hunting cabin or lake. He was a supervisor for the Portage County Soil and Water Conservation District for 20 years and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
Dale was often looked upon as a role model. He supported Waterloo Schools and his community. He always tried to teach valuable life lessons to the younger generations.
Dale was preceded in death by his beloved wife Delora “Dee” Miller on January 12, 2022. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Donald and Robert Miller, and his sons-in-law George Gregory and Robert Adams.
Dale is survived by his children: Laura “Lori” Gregory, David (Denise) Miller, Debra Adams, Christina Miller Stollar, and James Miller, as well as his beloved grandchildren: Jena (Benjamin) Stasik, Andy Miller, Sara Adams, Nicholas Miller, Dale (Maddie) Miller, Amanda Tishma, Michael (fiancé Sasha) Gregory, Dakoda Miller, Drake Miller, Delaney Miller, and his dear great-grandchildren: Donald Beckett, Paxton Stasik, and Blakely Miller, along with many dear friends, including: Dan Schuck, Eric Crites, and Ed Nichols.
Private services will be held for Dale’s family. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Final resting place will be Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
