Wallace Richard McKenzie

Wallace was born on November 26, 1931 in Alliance, Ohio to parents Wallace B. and Nellie McKenzie. Wallace was a farmer for most of his life and then went on to become a pattern maker, subsequently retiring from General Motors. He was an avid golfer and loved to fish. He also owned and trained race horses. Wallace was a member of the Ravenna Elks Club and was a Past Exalted Ruler.

Wallace is survived by his sons: Victor (Kim Novak) McKenzie and Doug (Robin) McKenzie. Surviving also are his grandchildren: Wallace Eric (Beckey) McKenzie, Holly McKenzie-Janic, Tina (Fred) Barr, and Patty (William) Smith, and 9 great-grandchildren. He also leaves his brothers: Russell (Diana) McKenzie, Ralph (Pat) McKenzie and Fred (Barbara) McKenzie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Delores, his sister Patsy McKenzie and his brother Terry McKenzie.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, with an Elks Service starting at 5:30PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna where funeral services will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Palmyra West Cemetery.
