Walter L. Broemsen

Larry was born June 11, 1940, to Edward & Lucile Broemsen in Springfield, OH. He moved to Portage County as a kid and graduated from Crestwood high school (1959). He remained a Portage County resident who met and married his wife of 64 years Fae (Horner) living in Mantua, Hiram, Garrettsville, and most recently Ravenna. Along with his father and brothers, Larry was a Mason, although he was not active in recent years. Larry retired after 45 years of service at Eaton Corporation in Mantua (aka Samuel Moore).

In retirement he traveled the world with his wife Fae and sometimes the grandkids. Trips spent with family were some of his most treasured memories. He was known for being active in the community including driving school bus, helping in the nursing home, volunteering with hospice care, as well as participation within his church communities. He was always an active member of the Lutheran church from his youth through the end of his life. He was also well known for his great sense of humor.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Edward and Sidney Broemsen.

Larry is survived by his wife Fae (Horner) and sons; Clayton (Rose), David (Tammy) and Ted (Shannon), grandchildren; Brenton (Ayeianna), Ryan, Gage (Kacey), Alyssa, Clarissa (Matt) and Kaila, great-grandchildren; Avy, Eli, Saylor, Riley, and Kaiden. In addition to his immediate family, Larry is survived by four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, seven nieces, and six nephews.

Visitation will be held at Tallmadge Luthern Church, 759 East Ave., Tallmadge, OH 44278 on Saturday May 30, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am followed immediately by funeral service at 12:00pm with a luncheon afterward. Larry will be cremated after the services and his ashes will be put to final rest with wife Fae in the future.
