Walter was born in Marion, Ohio to parents Walter H. Carrington Sr. and Nina Sparks.
Walter retired in May of 2009 from Samuel Moore Co. after a 42-year career as a supervisor. He had been a Randolph resident for 44 years and a member of the Hartville Wesleyan Methodist Church. Walter loved woodworking and taught it to children at New Franklin Christian Academy. Most important in his life was his family.
Walter is survived by his wife of 56 years, Edna (Summerfield) Carrington and his sons Gabriel Carrington and Walt (Paula) Carrington III. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Gabriel Carrington Jr., Iva Carrington, Amanda Carrington and Avery Carrington. Left also to cherish his memory are his siblings: Pamela Days, Kimberly Carrington, Rick (Melinda) Carrington and Ron Carrington along with many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Matthew Carrington.
Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St, Ravenna, on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 10am until the 11am funeral service, officiated by Pastor Joe Smith, Rev. David Blowers and Rev. Daniel Fair. Interment will immediately follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
