ADD A MEMORY
Kimberly (Reed) Burr

September 20, 2018

At Mom's funeral I was too chicken to speak up of a memory but I can do it this way for sure. The first thing that came to mind was of course how she could walk the socks off anyone. No matter how young, fit or taller one was Mom could out walk anyone. Her stride was crazy for such a tiny person. My Dad is probably thinking, "oh boy, better get those shoes dusted off, she's coming to see me." Another thing I find comfort in is that my Mom was blessed enough to have two men love her dearly. My Dad and Brian would have liked each other. They both took very good care of her and she let them. You will be missed Mom. I love you!!

It is so very sad for me to learn of the death of Wanda. I had no idea that she was even ill ! She would call me occasionally to keep in touch; and we had much to discuss back to times when she (as well as many of you in the Summers family) worked for my mother, Elsie Jennings.

She was a dear person to know; and I send my sympathy to all of you! I regret that I cannot convey my thoughts to all of you in the family personally; but I have a commitment that I cannot break at the time of the funeral.

Sincerely,
Diana Kane

My heart is heavy at the loss of my wonderful "Kissing Cousin" Wanda. Due to the variety of ages among Uncle Carl's offspring, I was obviously closest to the older kids who were closer to my age. Sonny, Bob and Donald were close and when possible despite the distance between us never dimmed our friendship. The girls on the other hand enjoyed the welcoming hugs, the smiles and the love we all felt for each other. We will miss Wanda at our annual Thanksgiving Dinner that she and Brian always joined us in celebration. At our daughter's wedding, we surprised many of the guests with our dancing and obvious love for each other. I am saddened by the loss of Wanda, but I cannot grieve. Her life was filled with family, friends and love was one to be celebrated and not mourned.

It was with heart felt sadness when I heard about the passing of my sweet cousin Wanda. I am thankful for the many memories I have of family reunions at Crystal Lake and the Va Park. She was always the life of these events making us laugh, sharing her hugs and I love yous with us. I remember as a child she ALWAYS made us feel loved. Seemed up for anything. She will truly be missed, and one day I will see her and the whole “Summers Clan” up in Heaven. I thank God for blessing us with Wanda for as long as he did. Love, Missy🌹
