

It is with great sadness that William R. Foster’s family announces his passing on July 13th 2019.
William was born Jan 23rd 1962 in Kent, Ohio to Ralph and Billie Foster. In 1980, he graduated from Kent Roosevelt High School as well as joined the US Navy, where he served from 1980 -1993 on the USS Constellation. After leaving the Navy, he moved to Winston Salem NC where he owned and ran two businesses; InTouch Wireless cell phone stores. Later, he moved back home to Ohio to be with friends and family and he became a member of Redemption Chapel in Stow, Ohio.
William was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Billie Foster, two brothers Ralph and Jack Foster, his sister Alice Ahmed, and niece Ami Phinney. William is survived by his daughter Katie (Steve) Martin of Wilmington NC, and three grandchildren, son Jason (Kerry) Graves of Baltimore MD and one grandchild, and his siblings Gary Foster of Woodbridge VA, Reginald (Dana) Foster of Kent OH, Dorothy (Dan) Prats of Streetsboro OH, and Renee (Scott) Strandberg of West Palm Beach FL. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved and adored him.
Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his church community group. Everyone who knows Bill has stories of his joy for living life to the fullest and of sharing that zest for life with others. Bill was known for being honorable, kind, and charismatic. At any gathering, Bill is someone you’d want sitting next to you. Bill was an incredible man who touched so many lives. Bill will be missed by all he loved and left behind, but was at peace knowing he would be reunited with the ones who had gone before him.
Those wishing to honor his memory are encouraged to live every day to the fullest, travel the world, and lift others up unselfishly.

The family would like to thank the Streetsboro Fire Department, Western Reserve Hospice and the doctors at the Veterans Affairs hospitals in Cleveland and Ravenna. A special thank you to Redemption Chapel Community Group, Pastor Jarrod Williams, and Family and Friends for your love and support.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, August 31, 2019, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with a memorial service officiated Pastor Jarrod Williams at 11:00 AM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph with military honors.
