He was born September 22, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents James Ray and Linda (Teets) Thompson. He grew up along with many of his cousins on the family farm in Freedom Township. Bill worked as an LPN for a while, but most of his working career was as a truck driver.
Bill liked things to be loud. Loud music, loud trucks, and especially opening up his Harley Davidson on a ride. He was a generous man with a big heart who was always willing to give and help others. Family was most important throughout Bill’s life and the reason he decided to move to North Carolina, to reunite his “wolf pack.” He loved watching his grandkids and spoiling them every chance he had.
Bill is survived by his children: Terri (Brian) Leach, Kaycee Thompson, Mathew Thompson, and Stacy Burdette; his mother Linda Thompson; grandchildren: Rayne, Joshua, Myah, Serenity, Elsa, and Hailey; as well as his siblings: James Ray (Debbie) Thompson Jr., Sharon Thompson, and Michael (Jennifer) Thompson.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janet Thompson and his father James Ray Thompson Sr.
Friends and family will be received Friday, November 21, 2019, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM with a funeral service officiated by Pastor Roy Harman at 2:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E.
