Sister Angela Franks

Sister Angela Franks (Marian Eleanor Franks), a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, died on September 23, 2013, at the age of 95, in the 77th year of her religious life. She was born on April 7, 1918 in Dayton, OH. Sister Angela is preceded in death by her parents George A. Franks and Anna Pabst. Her passing is mourned by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, her sister-in-law, Colette Franks and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sister Angela taught in elementary grades in St. Mary School, Hamilton, OH and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School, Reading, OH. Sister taught business subjects in St. Xavier Commercial High School and Mount Notre Dame High School in Cincinnati, OH and Hartley High School in Columbus, OH. Following this Sister Angela began her long career as secretary, including secretary to the School Supervisor, to the Provincial Team, to the Office of Ministry and her local community. Sister retired in 1999 to community service and prayer ministry.

The visitation will take place on Thursday, September 26, from 1:30-2:45 at Mount Notre Dame Health Center, 699 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati (513-821-7448), followed by the Mass of Christian burial and interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Retirement Fund of the Sisters of Notre Dame, 701 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati OH 45215.
