Grover C. Gosser Jr.

Grover C., Jr., passed away at his home in Reading on Friday, December 6, 2013 after a brief illness. He was 85. He was the widower of his lifelong sweetheart Areva (nee Burton) Gosser and cherished adoptive father of his grandchildren Valerie Guay and Katie Neack. He was also a special friend to Katie’s husband Mark Neack and he was the father of David Gosser and Rebecca Patrick. The true joy of his later years was being “Grampy” to Valerie’s son Jack Hellyar. G.C. is also survived by his sisters Maynie (the late E.G.) Tucker, Doris Brown, and his brother Wally (O’Weida) Gosser. He was predeceased by his parents Della & G.C., Sr. and several brothers and sisters. G.C. was many things to many people. To some he was a dedicated teacher, to others a skillful basketball coach, and to many simply a good neighbor and friend. His interests included the Reds, billiards, gardening, and doing things his own way. He was always a man who did his best, and he was a success. Public visitation at Schmidt- Dhonau-Kucner funeral home in Reading from 5pm-8pm Monday, December. 9th. Private services for the family will be held at the funeral home Tuesday December 10th at 10am with burial immediately following at Reading Cemetery.
