Hi,Dad. This Wyvitta, your eldest daughter, writing this message again since the one I entered on Nov. 17,2010 for some unknown reason did not show up on the guest book.
 I wanted you to know that no one can or ever could replace you as my Dad. You taught me & all the others so much about living life in so many ways. And, even though, you did not like to show emotions or express them, I have always known that you loved us! It was in the things that you would do for us personally that showed you cared & loved us. And, Dad, just as it was hard for you to show emotion, it has been the same for me with you for many reasons that we never got to explore. I will miss you so much,Dad! I have to say this Dad. I realize that we have had a long history. Some are very good memories that I will always treasure & love you for. But, I never had the courage to say it to you in person. I miss you in ways that I can not say. Mostly, I'll miss your laugh & geniune loving affection that you would extend when no one was paying attention!

Dad, 

I never thought this day would come.  I thought that you walked on water. As always, when you lose someone you love, you have many regrets.  I wish I would have told you I loved you before you left.  I can only hope that you knew that in your being. I know you were happy and proud of all of us children and you instilled many great things in us….mostly to always help other people.  It was very evident at your funeral that there were so many people that you helped throughout the years. Nothing will replace you, but us kids will try to continue and honor your tradition of helping others.  

I fell apart when I found out you died.  Even now writing this I am overwhelmed with sadness. I have so many great memories of you. One that stands out to me is when I totaled my first car.  I was so upset at myself and could not stop beating myself up over how irresponsible it was.  You told me not to worry about it, you would fix my car and everything would be back to normal.  Then you went to the store and returned home and told me you had a gift for me.  It was a little brown box with a fake spider inside – over top the spider it said “I Love You”.  Since those were not words you said very often, that was your way of telling me you loved me. 

I truly hope you are resting now and at peace.  You had a hard life but always seemed to make things work out.  I pray that I will see you again so we can say all the things we need to say.  I do not feel at peace about your death right now, please give me the strength to get through this.

Thanks for all the great memories dad. Although never said I love you and know that you loved us all. You left us with many great stories to tell and I will miss you very much. Visits home will never be the same. See you again someday.

Dearest Lindsay and family,

We joyously walked through this experience called life with you and your family.   Time and circumstance intervened in parts of our walk together, but as often happens individuals reach out and touch others.    Elizabeth and your son Robert reached out and touched Tom and I.    We were happy to come, share life, laughter  and stories with you and your children.     So proud you must be of all of them.    We combine elements of the same background with you, my father and mother were strong people that emerged from a strenuous life in the southeast to be survivors and provide for those they brought into this life.   You and your beautiful, gracious wife Elizabeth moved forward through the best of times and the worst of times, always forward with your hopes and dreams.    The love you shared for one another was evident to Tom and I.     Often times actions really do speak louder than words.   Our walk through life continues Lindsay, your resting for a short while.   
 

We will return and look for you, your hopes and dreams remain here with us for now.   Your smile, your love of hunting are not just hazy rembrances.  In our tomorrows we will gather where you were last and recall the memories that are permanently etched on the edge of our souls. 
Lindsay you are missed as much today as you will be tomorrow.   We will share more of your tomorrows, next time we won't have to stop and rest.

I miss you sitting in your chair every time i would come over to hang out with brian. You would always shake my hand and we would talk for a while about anything.  You were the one who got me into hunting in your backyard at kemper rd.  I always loved when you would come and help me and dad work at the farm because you could always make a joke out of something.  Just the other day i went to call you and ask you a question about the crossbow that you gave me and then remebered again that you were gone.  I have always looked up to you. You were the best grandfather of all time. I love you

Dad, I will never forget you. The moment I found out you passed I felt overwhelmed. I have alot of respect for you, the fact that you raised such a large family with so little is amazing. There were alot of times over the years I would think about the day you might go and it would upset me. These thoughts would come and go randomly every once in a while. I can assure you that it was so much worse than I imagined and I am not ready to be alone. I feel lost without you and the presence of authority I felt when around you. There will never be another Lindsay Campbell. I wish I would have got a chance to go hunting with you this year. I will never feel the excitment and joy of hunting that I did with you. You taught me how to hunt and made it enjoyable and I always wanted to make you proud. Sitting here now I feel as though a major part of me is missing. I don't know whether there is anything after life here on earth or if this is it, but if there is I hope to see you again and spend more time with you then. I love you. I wished I would have told you that at one point or another but I think we both knew it inside. I always felt that we had a special relationship that only you and I shared.     its Paul, i wasnt ready for this. I never could have been. I am proud to be your son. I spent 24 years with you and have many good memories of your life. I know you proably would worry about mom and Brian, but they are not alone i will step in to take your place as the're protector living in your home. Though nobody could compare i will do what you always did "your best".  You will be missed daily and never forgotten cause you are in my heart and my mind and thats where i will keep you. Uncle Lindsay was a patriarch in our Campbell family.  He not only looked over his own brood (children and wife) but after so many including my dad.

Lindsay was my favorite uncle.  Not because I spent a lot of time with him, but I observed him everytime he was around.  His generous and caring spirit is well know by many and will be sorely missed.  He was always a family man and cared about family.

His gentle spirit made lots of us around him feel special.  He was kind and generous and will be sorely missed.

He and My husband were friends for a long time and his name was mentioned almost every day in our home, always with a smie on my husbands face. He taught Donny alot about life and living. Dad:   This is your son, Robert.  I want to let you know that I appreciate everything you did for me during my 39 years of life so far.   I love you very much even though we never spoke about it.  I will miss calling you in the evening and saying "what are you doing?" and "will you come help me tomorrow work on the farm if you ain't got nothing better to do."   I won't forget all of the things you taught me and all of the things you helped me with like working on cars, helping me build two large pole barns, fixing tractors and farm equipment, gardening, lots of hunting and fishing, buying my first guitar and banjo, taking us to bluegrass music shows, taking us to little league baseball games, protecting our family from harm, and providing for us by working at Cincinnati Mine Machine for 37.5 years in loud conditions and blazing hot summer days.   You taught us much and provided in a manner which allowed me to be who I am today and I am very proud to call you my Dad.  I was only a few thousand feet away from you when you passed away and I am very sorry I was not by your side during that time.  I love you Dad and will miss you terribly.   I will help Mom and the rest of the family the best I can moving forward but will never be able to do it as well as you.   I LOVE YOU DAD!   Goodbye and see you later on down the road.

Elizabeth, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your husband.  My thoughts and prayers will certaintly be with you and your family - And what a wonderful family you have.
