Paula Barry Knox

Paula (née Barry), beloved mother of Jennifer Knox, Peter (Joanne) Knox, Paul Knox, David (Kelly) Knox, and Katherine Knox. Dear sister of Joan (Jim) Maynard and Ann Tillotson. Cherished grandmother of Heather, Ashley, Joie, Sarah and Laurel. Loving great-grandmother of five. Preceded in death by parents Paul J. and Katherine (née Hoffman) Barry. Paula passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at age 85. Memorial gathering Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. - 9: 45 A.M. at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 7754 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236 with the Memorial Mass to follow at 10:00 A.M. at the church.

Paula was born and raised in Pelham, N.Y. After graduation from high school, she attended Syracuse University where she majored in dietetics and was a member of the synchronized swim team. Paula married in 1957, and raised a family of five wonderful children.

After many moves throughout the U.S., Paula settled in Cincinnati and became very involved in the community both as a volunteer and a patron of the arts.

Her volunteer activities included Radio Reading Services (reading for the blind), the American Cancer Society, and as a choir member for St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church.

Paula's hobbies included her Saturday Breakfast Club, cooking, travel, the beach (Topsail Island, N.C.), playing Bridge, singing with the Sweet Adelines, and the love and care of animals, especially her pets Molly and Mettie.

She also leaves behind her dear friend of thirty years, Fred Gardner.

Paula's laughter and zest for life will be truly missed by her friends and family.
