Born with a generous heart, Annie was the backbone of her family, known for always having a smile on her face and a willingness to help anyone in need. Her love for others extended beyond her family, as she spent much of her life feeding people, both literally and figuratively, with warmth and care.
Annie’s lifelong passion for the culinary arts was reflected in her distinguished career as a chef.
She worked in various esteemed establishments, including the Cherokee County Club in Knoxville, TN,
Reading Airport Restaurant, and Stokesay Castle Fine Dining Restaurant. Her most notable role, however, was as Dietary Manager at Albright College, where she dedicated 30 years of service, creating meals that nourished both the body and the soul.
In 2009, Annie was honored as a Mother at True Faith Independent Holiness Church, along with serving on the Usher board, and singing in the church choir , a testament to her strength, dedication, and unwavering faith.
A woman of grace and compassion, Annie’s love for family was evident by her relocating to Charlotte, NC in 2010 to reside with her daughter, Patricia Johnson and be closer to her granddaughter, Adrienne Norwood who also resides in Charlotte North Carolina, and her great grandchildren, Empress Simone and Sire Emmanuel.
Annie also demonstrated her love for family by cooking family meals, and by making frequent trips from North Carolina to Tennessee to visit her granddaughter, Latisha Savage and great grandson Demetris Trevon.
While living in North Carolina, Annie experienced fun leisure times by frequently going to the beach and enjoyed working in the local community garden growing vegetables.
Annie also loved and enjoyed feeding her “Grand” fur babies; Stella, Simba and Twix.
Annie’s other passions included the art of perfume—she loved to smell good and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.
Her infectious smile, coupled with her love for life and people, made her a joy to be around. Her impact will forever be felt by all who knew her, and her memory will be treasured by her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Mae Inman; father, Richard Inman; brother, L.C. Inman; sister, Elease Aughtry, and nephews, Arthur Bair and Gary Bair.
Annie is survived by her daughter, Patricia Johnson; nephew, Kenneth Bair; granddaughters, Adrienne Norwood and Latisha Savage; great-grandchildren, Demetris Trevon, Empress Simone, and Sire Emmanuel; and many extended family members and friends.
A viewing for Annie will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Prayer service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Leroy Bailey officiating. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
A celebration of her life will be held in North Carolina at a later date, where all who loved her there will be invited to share in remembering the remarkable woman she was.
