Tony was born on June 10, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York to Anthony and Constance Varanouskas. Tony joined the United States Air Force, where he served his country for many years and earned the rank of Sergeant. Tony met his loving wife, Ernestine Trott, at a USO Dance while serving in the air force and they happily married in 1954. The two started a family together in Astoria, New York, and moved to Jericho, New York where Tony established himself as a prominent business owner of the Wantagh Car Care Center. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ernestine, in 1981.

The two lived together in Florida, where they enjoyed beach life and the relaxing views of the Intracoastal Waterway. Over the recent years, Tony and Barbara moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to family.
