OBITUARY

Antonia Cordero-Gonzalez

September 11, 1946October 22, 2019

Antonia Cordero-Gonzalez, 73, passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family’s embracings, farewells, and heartwarming songs as she faced the end of her battle with stage 4 cancer. Antonia was the daughter of the late Abraham Cordero and Maria Gonzalez.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on September 11, 1946, Antonia blessed her loving family with her positive and vibrant self. She remained unphased by what life threw her way and was a living example of not letting life’s negative situations and unexpected battles to determine how you should treat others or how you should view life. Her wish as she faced her battle with cancer was that all of her belongings would be given away and sold because her only desire was to share the last meaningful moments of her life beside her family.

Her personality was infectious and she was always dressed in elegant attire with simple and natural makeup applied. She enjoyed exercising, going for walks, and sitting down having a cup of coffee with her dear family members. She had the privilege of going on a camping trip with some of her immediate family not long before her passing as well as celebrate one last birthday for all to reflect on her long years together. Antonia loved going to the Hispanic Center on Fifth St. in Reading where she made many friends who looked up to her expressive and positive demeanor. She loved God dearly and cherished her family deeply as reflected in her last moments.
