Barbara Ann Witman

Born in Reading on May 14, 1939, she was the daughter of Susan Mary Gerhart and Earl William Ebbert. Barbara was the wife of Thomas A. Witman, and they resided in West Lawn for 56 years.

Barbara graduated from Reading High School, Class of 1957. She married Thomas on July 30, 1960, and they shared 65 wonderful years together. Barbara worked as a secretary at American Casualty Insurance and later as a private secretary at Aetna Life Insurance Company.

Barbara enjoyed reading and had a deep love for all kinds of music, especially Big Bands. She and her husband Tom especially enjoyed attending Big Band weekends in Stone Harbor, New Jersey, and cherished their yearly vacations in Bermuda.

In addition to her husband Tom, Barbara is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Carol Witman, nephew Scott Witman, niece Shelley Dwinal, and great-niece Kylee Dwinal.

Barbara corresponded for more than 60 years with her longtime friends Patti and Ben O'Neal in Florida.

Arrangements are being handled by Theo C. Auman Funeral Home in Reading. Barbara will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
