Bernard Richard Amos

Bernard was born in Reading on December 19, 1937, a son of the late John Sr. and Mildred (Tobias) Amos and stepson of the late Irma Amos.

He was employed by Dana Corp. in transportation for 30 years, retiring in 1993, and was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Bernard is survived by his 2 sons, Bernard R. Amos Jr. of Oley, Joseph F. Amos of Wyomissing; 3 grandchildren: Roxanne Koller, Craig Amos and Ryan Amos; and 3 great-grandchildren: Blake and his girlfriend, Jevin; Hailey and Jordyn. There are also 4 nephews.

Bernard was predeceased by his daughter, Donna L. DeBeck; and his siblings: John Amos Jr., Elsie Ellen Amos and Michael Amos.

Services will be Friday, January 6, 2017 at 1 p.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be Friday 12-1 p.m. in the funeral home.
