Betty Jane Melot

She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert W. Melot on March 25, 2001, and her second husband, Harold Parr. Betty Jane was born in Hamburg on October 8, 1935, a daughter of the late Charles D. and Mary E. (Miller) Schwartz.

She was a 1953 Reading High graduate, a member of Grace and Hope Mission, and was employed by Lucent Technology as a tester for 28 years, retiring in 1997.

Surviving are her 2 sons, David W. Melot and his wife, Gale Frey, of St Louis, MO, Scott M. Melot and his wife, Suzanne L. Melot, of Bernville; her 4 sisters: Mary E. (Schwartz) Spotts of Shillington, Dorothy M. (Schwartz) Stichter of Van Nuys, CA, Suzanne R. (Schwartz) Melot of Reading, Harvene H. (Schwartz) Tonsil of Van Nuys, CA; and her 1 brother, Earl W. Schwartz of Jacksonville, FL. There are 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Betty Jane was predeceased by her brother, William H. Schwartz.

Services will be Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be Tuesday March 29, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home.
