She was predeceased by her husband, John Torhan in September 2010.
Born in Alleghenyville she was a daughter of the late Edna V. Styer.
She was employed with the former Baldwin Hardware for 24 years before retiring in May 1992.
Betty loved gardening and flowers. She had a fondness for all types of pets and especially loved her 4 grandsons.
She is survived by her children: John Torhan and his wife Lori of Reamstown, Betty L., widow of Gene M. Venzke of Oley Township and Gayle D. Torhan-Hall and her husband David Hall of Elverson. She is also survived by her grandsons: Jonathan and Evan Hall and Ben Venzke and wife Vanessa and Michael Venzke and his fiancé Plum Sites. She is also survived by her great granddaughter Natasha Venzke.
Services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00 am in Auman’s, Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, Pa. (Exeter Township). Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends and family may view on Friday from 10:00-11:00 am. www.aumansinc.com
