Betty Yvonne "Sissy" McCormick

Betty Yvonne "Sissy" McCormick, 78, passed away March 5, 2015, in her Reading residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, Leroy McCormick. She was born in Reading on June 27, 1936, a daughter of the late Andrew Willis and Lucille (Lockwood) Spencer.

She was an assistant teacher for the Reading School District.

Betty is survived by her son, Craig S. McCormick and her daughter, Nicolette J. McCormick, both of Reading, her sister, Sandra Branford of Exeter; and her brother, Ronald Willis of Reading. There are 6 grandchildren: NeQuan D. McCormick, Ndea S. McCormick, Nashanti A. McCormick, Nevaeh Y. McCormick, Xavier S. Morrison, and Katrice S. McCormick and a great-grandson, Amare J. McFarlin. Betty was predeceased by her son, Terri O. McCormick, and her siblings: Gerald Lockwood, Robert Willis, Charles Willis and Judith Edwards.

As per Betty's wishes, a memorial gathering will be Wednesday, March 11, 2015, from 3-4 p.m. in Theo C. Auman, Inc., Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. Burial will be private. www.theocauman.com
