Brent Allen Burkey, 63, of Reading, PA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at his residence. Born in Reading, PA on February 7, 1961, he was a son to the late Catherine Elizabeth (Maser) Burkey and Herbert Nathaniel Burkey Jr,.
Brent embraced life with a gentle spirit and a heart full of joy. A cherished member of the Threshold Rehabilitation Services community, he found great fulfillment in his work at Threshold, where he eagerly joined his housemates and colleagues each day. He cherished the camaraderie and purpose that came with being part of such a supportive community.
Brent, who was of the Christian faith, found joy in the simple things in life. He had a deep passion for music, spending many hours with his headphones on immersed in a wide variety of music. Brent had a special love for horses, enjoyed doing puzzles, and exploring new places through travel.
Known for his gentle and innocent demeanor, Brent's impeccable manners, kindness, and unending happiness endeared him to everyone he met. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, caregivers, and everyone who was fortunate to be part of his life's journey.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Brent. Your joyous spirit and gentle soul will forever be remembered and cherished.
Brent's spirit will be carried on by his 3 sisters MaryAnn Grant and her husband Robert, Ruth Marie Sloane and Cathy Lee Burkey. He also leaves behind 2 nieces and 2 nephews to cherish his memory.
A viewing for Brent will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Prayer service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Rd., Fleetwood, PA 19522.
