Annie it was my pleasure to work with you and family. I loved every bit second that I took care of your lovely mami. She was a wonderful human being. I know she’s in a better place playing and singing next to the Lord. My thought and prayers are with you and family. Thanks for everything Erika Baez

Sandy, Ann, Chris --- so sorry to hear about Carmella's passing, I have such fond memories of her at Holy Rosary, and of course all the fun times with her, my mom and the others who worked or volunteered there for so many years. Now with the recent passing of Ben Schools', it really feels like an era is gone.

Cousin Carmie will be missed. She was such an angel and a joy to be around. I can still hear her playing music with her husband and my father Santo aka Billy. Heaven will be filled with lots of music.

For Mommy

...and still you smile

by Ann E Brooks c 2018

Watching you
laying in yet another hospital litter
Its your sixth pneumonia this year...
Ambulance crews remember us.
They chat and thank you for your kind words of gratitude and how you welcome them to your home, as they care for you in controlled urgency.
...and still you smile

You treat each person with the highest respect.
Results come back with broken ribs, a severe hematoma above your heart...your 3rd heart attack...chronic congestive heart failure with fluid consticting your breathing
...and still you smile

Nothing phases you. Pain that would make a strongman drop to his knees
...and still you smile

You tolerate life-threatening surgeries with
grace and poise
Outwitting surgeons and their grave expectations they are certain will end your life.
You defy all their odds
...and still you smile

You are Jesus’ girl, one of His best friends.
In our private Mom/daughter talks, You keep telling me how eager He is to come back to this world to get us all.
“Pray,” you keep saying. I promise I will storm heaven.
...and again you smile

How blessed are you, are we, that through it all He does not let go of your hand. It is all in HIS time. Through it all, never a flinch of pain
...and you always continue to smile.

Now the journey is over...
You stuggled with breathing that made each of us gasp....but in your final hours, and in your last breath, you saw Our Creator Him, so sweetly, you smiled.
