Carol Jean (Wood) Warner, 94, of Spring Township, entered eternal rest on September 4, 2026, at Reading Hospital. Born on November 26, 1931, in Westfield, MA, she was the only daughter of the late Luman Stewart Wood Sr. and Lillian (Baker) Wood.
In addition to her parents, Carol was greeted in heaven by her brother, Luman Stewart Wood Jr., whom she adored. She was also welcomed in heaven by her beloved husband, Roger Reed Warner. Carol and Roger were married on November 14, 1953, and shared 63 years of marriage until his passing on May 2, 2017. Together, they built a life filled with family, travel, laughter, and countless memories that would become part of the Warner family story.
For more than four decades, Carol and Roger were faithful members of Bausman Memorial United Church of Christ, where their faith and their church family remained an important part of their lives.
Carol worked at Penn State University as an assistant to the administrator and later served as a bookkeeper at the Abraham Lincoln Hotel in Reading, where she especially loved the people she worked alongside. She never seemed to forget the people who made an ordinary job feel like something more.
A devoted Penn State football fan, Carol loved her Nittany Lions and never missed an opportunity to proudly proclaim, “WE ARE!” She and Roger especially enjoyed their trips to Cape Cod and Williamsburg, and her family fondly remembers the camping adventures they shared during her younger years. She loved her home and took great pride in caring for it, but even more than that, she loved having her grandchildren around. She also found plenty of joy in sewing, baking, and the dogs she dearly loved.
Sassy and brassy, with absolutely no shortage of personality, Carol could keep you on your toes. But beneath that spirited exterior was a woman whose heart belonged completely to her family. Family was everything to Carol, and the love she poured into them will be one of the greatest parts of her legacy.
Carol’s spirit will be carried on by her three sons, Mark W. Warner and his wife, Jackie, who lovingly cared for Carol in their home since 2019; Craig Warner and his wife, Linda; and Drew Warner and his wife, Vickie; and her four grandchildren, Jessica, Adam, Abigail, and Christopher.
Services will be private and held at the discretion of the Warner family.
