Catherine Elizabeth Bartell

Our Earth Angel, Catherine E. Bartell, 82, formerly of Oley, became our Heavenly Angel on Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Tower Health – Reading Hospital. Born in Staten Island, New York on March 26, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Gladys (McKnight) Healy. Known to many as “Chuuch,” she was employed as a Church Secretary at Friedens Lutheran Church for many years until retiring. She loved to read with a cup of tea in hand. She was always singing and dancing, even though she “couldn’t carry a tune.” Devoted to her faith, she was an active member of St. Columbkill Roman Catholic Church, Boyertown. Catherine had the purest soul; she loved deeply and was loved endlessly. She is survived by her daughters, Heather, wife of Patrick Solley of Oley and Kimberly, fiancé of Joe Holmes of Pottsville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lauren, wife of Ryan Stoner, Erin Solley, Evan Solley and Patrick McGuinness, and her great-grandchildren, Saylor Jefferson, Norah McGuinness, Ava McGuinness and Isaiah Stoner, with another great-grandson on the way. She is also survived by her brothers, Jeremiah, Thomas and John Healy as well as her sisters, Anne Zakian, Gladys Morris and Mary Uhrig, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Healy, her grandson Michael McGuinness, and her first love Anthony “Tony” Battaglia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Columbkill Roman Catholic Church, 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown, Pa. 19512 on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 10:00 am. Friends and family may view on Saturday from 9:00-10:00 am at the church. Interment will follow at Spies Zion Cemetery, Alsace Township.
