Catherine Rollman Monroe

Born November 25, 1918, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she was the oldest daughter of the thirteen children of Christian Jos. and Elizabeth L. (Pape) Rollman.

Catherine was preceded in her voyage to be with our Lord by her husband of 61 years, Edward F. Monroe Sr.; brothers, Bernard and Joseph; sisters: Rose, Ruth, Mary and Betty.

Surviving are her son, Edward Jr. and his wife, Donna R. Monroe, Berwick, PA; granddaughters: Hayley A. Kuchta, Harveyville, PA; Jan M. Higgman, Lynden, WA; Devon R. Monroe, Monroeville, PA; brothers, Charles and Frank; and sisters: Hellen, Joan, Clair and Margaret.

Catherine was a registered nurse, and a graduate of Kings County Hospital School of Nursing, Brooklyn, NY, retiring from the Reading Hospital.

She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Robesonia, PA.

Catherine and Eddie enjoyed traveling, winters in Florida, reunions and keeping up with family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 29, 2016, at 11 a.m., in St. Francis de Sales, 321 N. Church St., Robesonia, PA 19551. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be Friday, 10-11 a.m., in the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Society at the above address. Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, Reiffton is entrusted with her services.
