

Born in Allentown on July 6, 1924, Mac was a son of the late William B. and Helen E. (Williamson) McNeal. He was a Robesonia High School graduate.
Mac was a WWII veteran and served in the U.S. Navy for 3 years, 9 months and 21 days. He was a Gunners Mate on the USS Omaha. He also volunteered on the Road to Burma to transport artillery, fuel and supplies.
Mac was employed with Bethlehem Steel in Morgantown and was one of the few that worked from conception to the end of the company. He was employed for Civil Service as a supervisor of Mine Safety and Health Administration and then a supervisor of the Bureau of Mines for the Northeastern District for 30 years before retiring.
Mac enjoyed horseback riding. He enjoyed golfing, casinos and taking trips but he was the happiest at home with his beloved wife, horses, dogs, cats and birds.
Surviving is Mac's devoted wife, Mazie (Bingaman) McNeal of Birdsboro; a sister, Emily McNeal of Lancaster and a brother, Walter "Red" McNeal of Reading. Mac was predeceased by a sister, Mary Clemmer.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Rd., Reading. Family and friends will be received in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading from 11 to 12:00 p.m. www.aumansinc.com.
