Born on May 7, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Doris Weller and the late Gertrude and Herbert Locker. Charlie, known by family and friends growing up as Howard, and by his grands and great-grands as "Pop-Pop," was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jan Miller Weller, with whom he shared almost 50 years of love, partnership, and family, before her passing in 2011.
Charlie lived a life marked by faith, family, and service. He proudly served for eight years in the Army Reserves and then spent 20 years as a Philadelphia firefighter, faithfully serving others with courage and dedication. After retiring from the fire department in 1985, he continued working in the grocery business.
He was an active member of Swamp Christian Fellowship in Reinholds, PA. Charlie loved to volunteer at his church, was a member and treasurer of the Lions Club, and was always helping his friends at Keystone Villa, which he happily called home for the last 4 1/2 years. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for his family, and the fellowship he shared with others.
Charlie is survived by his three children: Dawn C. Brady and her husband, James; Lynne A. Moyer and her husband, Jeffrey; and Keith N. Weller and his wife, Heather. He was a proud grandfather to Andrew Brady and his wife, Hannah; Joshua Sims and his wife, Katie; Erin Zimmerman and her husband, Erik; and Jacob Sims. He was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren. Charlie is also survived by two sisters, Natalie and Lynn, and a sister-in-law, Erika.
In addition to his wife, Jan, Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Guy Weller.
Charlie will be remembered for his dedication to family, his servant's heart, and the kindness extended to those around him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and brought laughter to everyone he met. He enjoyed games of all kinds and was known for his competitive spirit. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with Jan and resting in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
