Born on May 6, 1938, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, Cherie was the daughter of the late Lewis and Jessica Maurer. She was raised in Northumberland alongside her brother, Ronald, and her sister, Sandra. A graduate of Northumberland High School, Cherie cherished her classmates and faithfully attended class reunions throughout her life.
After high school, Cherie married and devoted herself to raising her four children. The family later settled in Reading, where she worked several jobs to provide for her family. She eventually began her career at Reading Hospital, first in Hospitality before advancing to the position of Ward Clerk in the Intensive Care Unit. She dedicated 30 years of service to the hospital before retiring.
Cherie found great joy in spending time with her family. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, traveling to Florida, and making lasting memories during weekends at “The Cabin.” She was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church in Shillington.
Those who knew Cherie will remember her for her kind and generous heart, her unwavering love for her family, her quick wit, and her wonderful sense of humor. Her warmth, strength, and laughter touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cherie was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Jessica Maurer; her brother, Ronald Maurer; her sister, Sandra; her longtime partner, Joseph Minnicozzi; her daughter-in-law, Loretta Daddario; and her son-in-law, John Williamson.
