Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, on October 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frank Babczak and Florence (Gurtowski) Babczak.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert H. Albright, who passed away in 2002; her significant other, Arthur Trezza; and her cherished fur baby, Rudy.
Christine spent more than 30 years working as a secretary for Reuben H. Donnelley (The Yellow Pages). Through hard work and determination, she earned a well-deserved early retirement at the age of 56, allowing her to devote more time to the people and passions she loved most.
And enjoy life she did.
Christine had a creative spirit and a remarkable gift for making things beautiful. She loved gardening, cooking, crocheting, crafting, and creating handmade treasures that she proudly sold at local craft shows. For more than 20 years, she was a familiar face and dedicated vendor at the Morgantown Flea Market. Her home was always filled with thriving plants, colorful flowers, and the warmth of her welcoming nature.
An exceptional baker, Christine never arrived empty-handed. Her famous chocolate cake, Hawaiian wedding cake, and blueberry pie became family favorites and were often requested for special occasions. If you were lucky enough to enjoy one of her homemade treats, you knew it was made with love.
She also enjoyed playing cards, spending time with family and friends, and taking trips to Atlantic City. Whether gathered around a card table or celebrating a special occasion, Christine treasured time spent with those she loved.
Perhaps nowhere brought Christine greater joy than Hawaii. Over the years, she traveled to the islands nearly 20 times. Hawaii became her happy place and the backdrop for countless treasured memories. One of her most cherished experiences was sharing the islands with her two granddaughters, passing along her love for a place that meant so much to her. It was her wish that her ashes be returned there, to the place that brought her such peace and happiness.
Those who knew Christine will remember her Polish spunk, quick wit, gentle spirit, and heart of gold. She never spoke a bad word about anyone and always found the good in people. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to family made everyone around her feel welcome, loved, and cared for.
Christine's memory will be lovingly carried on by her two sons, Steven Wagner and his wife, Donna, and Richard Wagner and his wife, Joan; her three granddaughters, Amanda Cioffi and her husband, Luke, Alyssa Slade and her husband, Sean, and Stephanie Andrews and her husband, Robert; and her greatest joy was being “Nan” to her five great-grandsons, Anthony, Mason, Beau, Caleb, and Oliver.
Christine’s legacy lives on in the family she adored, the friendships she nurtured, the beauty she created, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness.
In accordance with Christine’s wishes, no services will be held. Instead, her family will honor her memory by returning her to Hawaii, the place she loved most and visited faithfully throughout her life.
For those who knew and loved her, it seems fitting that a woman who spent so much of her life looking forward to her next trip to Hawaii would make it her final journey as well.
Aloha ’oe a hui hou — farewell until we meet again.
