In loving memory of Curtis Sargent Hill, or as he was better known, “Sarge,” who passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026. He was the first child of Curtis and Judith Hill, born on April 1, 1958, and grew up in Malvern, PA.
Sarge is survived by his wife of 42 years, Leeann, whom he married on September 29, 1984; their four children, Jesse Hill, Jacquelyn Kline and her husband Tony, Justin Hill and his wife Alexandrea, and Jocelyn Sturz and her husband Richard; his brother, Douglass Hill; and his two sisters, Lauren Slimon and Gretchen Grunwell, as well as eight grandchildren.
Sarge was a devoted family man and a beloved member of his community. No one loved the Philadelphia Eagles more than Sarge. He was the Class President of his graduating class at Great Valley High School in 1976 and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1974. Sarge had a special love for the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, which he shared with his family. He was a Mile Relay Champion at the Penn Relays in 1976. He was an alumnus of Sigma Pi Fraternity at Ohio Wesleyan University. Sarge was a member of Local 164 of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America out of Philadelphia. He served as a Deacon at Pennside Presbyterian Church and later embraced his faith in Catholicism. He was a member of the choir at Saint Catharine of Siena Parish and Saint Charles Church and a parishioner of Saint Philomena Church.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 391 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606.
A secondary viewing and a time of remembrance, during which the family will offer the eulogy, will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Saint Catharine of Siena Parish, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606, beginning at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial promptly commencing at 10:00 AM.
Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to gather in the parish social hall.
Sarge will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Douglassville, PA.
