

Born in Reading on September 23, 1947, he was the son of the late Norman and Alverda (Roth) Stiely. He was a 1965 Schuylkill Valley High School graduate.
Curtis entered the US Army in 1965 and served during the Viet Nam War. When he returned stateside, he was employed with Georgia Pacific and then he retired after 30 years as a Crane Operator with Parish-Dana Corp.
He was past Post Commander of the Mt Penn VFW Post 8993. He was proud of the time he served his country. He sang on the choir of his church, Trinity UCC in Mt. Penn and with the Horizon Singers. He liked collecting tiger figurines and enjoyed classic cars.
Curtis' favorite thing to do was to be with his grandchildren and great grandson.
Surviving are two daughters: Suzette J. Stiely of Womelsdorf and Colette S. (Stiely) Prussman and her husband, Ron of Reading; four grandchildren: Ambrosia, Gerhart, Ronnie, Jr. and Hannah; a great grandson, Ares; a sister, Vivian (Stiely) Massey and her husband, Lee T. of Ft. Walton Beach, Fl and an aunt, Betty Roth of Leesport.
Services for Curtis will be at 7pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 7pm.
